Default Bluefin out of MI 7-21

Left the dock around 530, a little slower ride out than we were hoping for going into an easterly swell. Got to everyone's favorite area, at 830 we had a double knock down. One came unbuttoned on a spoon, the other was boated, a 50-60lb bluefin. The fish was loaded with small sand eels. Worked the same general area for a couple hours and nothing. Worked our way out towards CC, didn't see much life and had no more run offs. Worked back towards where we started, around noon we picked up a 15-20lb Cow Mahi. Continued on, had 2 single 25-30lb Bluefin and 2 explosions behind lures that missed them. Only 1 miss on spreader bars all day, fish were on Bally's and cedar plugs. Only saw 1 fishing boat all day.

Got 2 members of crew on their 1st tuna today, canyon bound (hopefully) on Thursday and hopefully back out to Bluefin grounds over the weekend.

Sounds like a great trip Paul. Love those good old fashion cedar plugs.
