![]() Started out bucktailing at the dock. I had a 12" fluke on the first cast and then weedballs the next 19 casts. Hard to even try in there this year as it has been solid seaweed for a month.
Went out with a decent crowd and picked at mixed sized ling and mostly nice sized sea bass. No spot was very good, but by the end of the day you could have a decent catch if you worked at it. We drifted and anchored. Strong tide today made things difficult, at one point we were drifting into the wind. I wound up with 6 sea bass, 14 ling and a decent sized whiting. Pool winner was a big 4 plus lb sea bass and that guy had 12 sea bass and 4 ling. Middletown Mike had 8 sea bass, 10 ling and a decent whiting. Dennis Stock had 10 sea bass, 8 ling and a flounder. Noel Westerlind was too cool for school and wouldn't tell me what he had, but I know he had a flounder and around 15-20 mixed fish. |

![]() Most every keeper sea bass is over 14 1/2" so there is a good amount of meat per keeper. Ling are a mixed bag, fish between 11"-22". One drop a 10oz fish, the next drop a 4lber.
