Talking Surprise Surf Report

Fished the surf in Long Branch yesterday and caught what will go down as one of my coolest catches of all time. Fished with bunker chunks and clam. Was there only about 20 mins when I got hit on the chunk and my line went slack. I grabbed the pole and reeled until I felt a little weight and then set the hook. At first it felt like nothing and then I thought maybe fluke and as I got it a little closer the line started to peel. As I got him closer I yelled to my son, "Shark"!!! I landed it about 75 yards north of where I started. A beautiful sand tiger. Not a monster but a cool awesome catch and I got to do it with my two sons next to me.
No other hits the rest of the time I was there. Many dolphin not far off the beach as well. Beautiful day and a great time with my boys.

Yes, released and swam away to fight another day. The onlookers seemed to have mixed emotions about it lol. Me and my boys didn't. My 9 yr old asked to go back into the water after I released him.
