![]() Hop on any one of the bluefish boats from Point, Brielle, or Belmar as the albies are mixed in with them. Just fish for albies instead of blues when you get to the grounds.
Good luck. |

![]() I was hoping to go on a boat fishing specifically for albies.
In my experience it seems that the people fishing for bluefish get a little annoyed when you keep moving around the boat following an albie hooked on a light rod. If everyone is fishing for albies no one gets ticked off. I've been on a few albie trips on a couple of different sponsor PBs in the past. I was just wondering if any boat was planning to schedule an albacore trip. I guess it depends upon the number of people interested. |

![]() Dont worry about those hacks, fish for albies, run around them, avoid the tangles, and have a blast. its different if your fishing for 15-20# blues with 15lb test, then dirty looks may be warranted. or worse if you just stand in one spot and fight the fish while it tangles everyone. Try a tues or weds to catch lighter crowds. no angles no tangles!

![]() The Cock Robin encourages you to fish for albies...plus plenty of room on that boat to go up and down. The boats that are 100'+++ just get too damn railed for everyone to move around and def don't have enough room on the side of the boat, plus (in my opinion) the anglers are not as good on those boats and will not make room for you when you are coming down the rail....never had that problem on the CR with over crowding or too many drunk idiots like I have on the larger boats. Most of the anglers are not new to the game on the CR, and will have a light rod for albies and heavier rod for blues. The professional mates are extremely helpful in getting you around and making room if you need to go up or down the boat with the Albie. Last year they were even selling the plastic tsunamis on board in multiple colors based on what the albies wanted that day/week.
Smaller boats are easier to navigate...and come with less lines in the water which means less tangles. With blues here and stripers right behind not sure if you will see any special albie trips...but you never know. |

CTS- as soon as I can get home you'll find that the Cock Robin will run our popular Fat Albert and da Bonz trips Monday and Wednesday of next week. Dont be surprised if we also arrange for Skippy Skip Jack to make a rare guest appearance |

this time of year its unlikely your going to get a dedicated albie trip from a PB... if its a good summer for albies and skippies and they are coming up consistently in the catches while bluefishing you sometimes see a PB schedule a special "exotics" trip for regular customers where they will go out and target albies and chicken mahi and such. its basically the same thing as bluefishing except they throw a light chum slick with some spearing and no one uses wire leaders. hop on a bluefish boat with some smaller jigs and stuff.. its a great time of year.. you have a chance at anything from albies and bonito to stripers and bluefish. also.. tell anyone who gets annoyed to RELAX its party boat bluefishing. |
