![]() I have been fishing the passaic river for about 2 weeks now and put the boat in at elmwood park marina. I have been destroying the smallmouth too with some nice big ones. Right before the dark I catch most of my big ones right by the weed lines but this guys has been racking all the weeds out. Do you guys think that's bad for the fish since the big fish would breed in weeds the babies would hide to live and get big and some big fish would even eat the little fish to get bigger, would this ruin the patterns of breeding or eating?

![]() Not sure but Im guessing u mean the guy at the marina has been cleaning out all the weeds in his area. IF thats the case the fish will just move up or down til they find better habitat. Most weedlines change year to year and structure in rivers changes after almost every storm, so its not a big deal really. Theres so much structure in the passaic its not even funny

![]() i don't think it'd be a big deal. big smallies like hanging out around rocks more than they like hanging out around weeds anyway.
