Musky fishing.....
I took FastEddie out on the two little lakes for some musky fishing. By the end of the day, we had combined for 22 follows/swipes/swings and misses without putting one in the net. Fun day though. Really cool to see all those fish. I knew it was going to be tough with the clear skies, low humidity and high barometer, but we gave it hell anyway. The overwhelming majority of the fish were slow and lazy and only a couple took a swipe, only a couple came in hot and only a couple went around on the Figure 8. Great fishing with you Eddie, we gotta do it again. Maybe next time we go 1 for 1.

Re: Musky fishing.....
I was amazed with all the fish on the move yesterday. I can't believe we couldn't get 1 in the boat. Bluebird skies, yuck!!! Oh we'll, that's fishing. I was also impressed by your musky gear Mark. Definitely going to spend some money soon on some good Musky gear. Yesterday was my first 11 hour day fishing for Musky. It was well worth it, can't wait to go again. Thanks again Mark! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Re: Musky fishing.....
Night bite is slowing down, looks like its time for me to start throwing all the nice expensive muskie lures I stocked up on all winter. Nice to see you guys moved that many fish, hopefully next time some hookups.

Re: Musky fishing.....
It was a blast Eddie, good to fish with you. Glad you dug the gear and had fun hucking lures around. It is pricey stuff, but it's important that people buy the rights stuff (stout rods, proper musky net, good hook cutters) to quickly land and release fish healthy. Playing a fish on 12-pound test on a spinning rod and landing it with a fluke net is a sure way to kill it or at best split its fins open.
And Skunk, I'd get on that pretty quick. Water temps were 75 when I got off the lake yesterday. After 80 degrees, you're gonna put a lot more stress on the fish and decrease its chances of survival. It's a touchy subject for some people, but the most respectable musky anglers I know will be fishing out of state or packing it up until September. |
