Talking those pesky fluke.......

Hit the water today with eric the MM for a day of striper fishing. I hate going in with high hopes and crashing and burning! Drove all over today, the bay, the ocean, the hook and nadda! From what i was hearing it was tough for most of the fleet.

With time running out we decided to change tactics and put on the high low spros with gulp in hopes of jigging up a striper. We could do nothing with these rigs but catch those pesky out of season FLUKE! those pesky flat fish were taking the spros every drift. keepers, shorts, sea robins and racer blues. Had a blast! weeded thru those flat fish for two hours trying to get a striper!

ALL out of season fish GENTLY released to be caught on opening day. None gut hooked, 0 mortality rate so I don't want to hear it. Can't help what you catch and did not "possess" a fish for longer than a quick picture. Had a blast, and would do it again. Eric had a nice 5 pounder and I dropped a very nice fish.

Some left overs from last year that were on the boat. But here is one of yours ready to go.

I like this report, thanks for posting, don't listen to the guys about catching them out of season, you turned a bad day into a good day that's all that matters. I can't wait for fluke season to open.
