Gotta Shake off this FW Dounut this Weekend

I am going from ZERO to HERO this weekend...That is the plan!

Not one FW fish caught yet this year has just gotta change and I plan to go somewhere this weekend. Still formulating the plan of attack.

Got new string on the rods, batteries are charged, I have more lures than GOD knows about, boat is ready, I'm ready, done with work and BAM...I'M finally GOING FISHING!

Seems like sat might be a little better weatherwise and you always feel SOOOOO much better when you catch those first few fish of the year!!!!

don't forget to bring some worms and a bobber. many times i have found that you have to wash the skunk off by catching a sunny before you can catch anything else.

I got out finally, just not on my boat as planned. Very windy last Sunday so I fished a local pond instead. Fished for ~ 2h and managed to land 11 LMB. We are not talking about LARGE MB, but on the ultralight tackle was great. All fish were < 14 inches but playing them on the light tackle was fun. While typical of the pond I fished, will be needing to seek bigger game. All fish caught on a small spinner in 2-3 ft of water. Doughnut is gone in the FW for 2013!
