Default $$$ Offshore rods/ Choices?$?$?

Every now nad then a question comes up asking what are the best choices for offshore rods. We are presently outfitting a Custom Sportfisherman with a wide range of rods. I'll discuss the features of each set. Feel free to pitch in.
We will start with the 50's. Each rod utilizes a Calstar BT660XH E Glass blank, rated 40-100. I have found that this shaft is a more "Fisherman Friendly" rod than the heavier rated XXH 50-120 lb, or any of the Baha Boomers, and can be built at longer lengths to suit boats with outboards, giving more reach over the transom. The softer action makes for Killer troll or chunk rods. 200-300 lb fish??? Why not?
These rods use HD 6 brace guides 25mm- 12 mm. The advantage is that the 12mm gives an addition 20% more clearance than the standard 10's, thus allowing the use of wind-on leaders and 'heavy knots'. Teamed with "Winthrop Roller" tops no other assembly offers greater clearance. Keep in mind that Winthrops are "side loaded", meaning the roller is contained within the frame, dissalowing even the smallest diameter braid from getting caught the roller, a problem inherent with Aftco tops. The upgrade is a mere $25. These rods sell for $305 per unit/ 4 or more rods receive a 10% discount PLUS TAX. I'll keep you posted on the performance results. They will soon be fished throughout the Carribean for Marlin and other species. Any questions or comments are welcome
