Post Delaware river...

tried fishing some new spot this afternoon north of bulls island but couldnt b/c of shallow swift water, and i was going for catfish so it wasnt good for that, along with a group of annoying tubers belonging to a summer camp, and the spot itself had too many overhanging trees making it hard to cast, so i decided F*** this and went to a boat ramp about a mile downstream.

fished there until 6...too many jet skis and boat traffic scaring away the fish, plus a bunch of eels stealing my bait (caught a huge one at least 24 inches) but i walked down a path and climbed down the bank at the start of the D&R feeder canal. casted chicken liver near a submerged brush pile, waited 2 minutes, BAM!! hooked up to a nice 23 3/4" channel cat, being the first catfish i caught out of the river in 2 years. so i didnt feel like it was a complete waste...

anyone know of better shore fishing spots for the big cats between the lambertville and milford areas?

My fiance and I were on the delaware today as well. Only we might have been one of those annoying tubers! LOL. The water was definately high and fast today. Saw a bunch of swirls around the banks and saw a couple fish jump out of water on our drift down. I wish I had my fishing pole.

We later on drove to New Hope and walked around NH and Lambertville and got dinner. Of course, the day wasn't complete without receiving my first ever parking ticket in NH for an expired meter.

2 questions:

1) Where do you get chicken livers?

2) HOw do you get those things to stay on the hook?

THanks!

chicken livers are sold at most large supermarkets. i get them at stop and shop, and sometimes an asian supermarket by my house if stop n shop doesnt have them. they are usually $1.50-$2.00 per container.

for calm rivers where im doing short distance casting i just push a palm sized chunk of liver through the hook point a bunch of times and cast gently. for the big D i use Atlas Mike's spawn sacs along with Atlas Mike's elastic thread, and make sacs out of the liver chunks. u can get spawn sacs and thread from cabelas or large tackle stores usually sell them.

heres a link for how to tie liver sacs, and links to buy the materials are in the description.

Awesome video. You learned me something.

Also, you gotta love catfish, Cabela's and Nattie Light. That's what I call America.
