Re: White Sucker Run is on
The eagle resurgence has been amazing. There were 12 eagles flying together at the Oradell reservoir last week. Only one of them was mature

Re: White Sucker Run is on
The pesticide DDT caused thin eggshells which broke under the adults' weight. DDT was banned in 1968, resulting in the resurgence:

Re: White Sucker Run is on
There was a second rainbow in the nest today. The eagles had a few lean days for food, but they always had something to eat. One of the first fish dinners was a crappie. The suckers filled the void along with a rabbit or two until the state stocked trout. Now, it's game on. The eagle chicks are eating on their own little by little and the fish seem more plentiful. The best video was when it snowed and one of the parents stayed on the nest coving the chicks while she/he was covered with snow.
