Default A decent day of Fluke fishing!

Left the barn at 7. Tons of bunker all over the bay. Turned the hook and headed to the SBR. Fished 40ft of water and caught a keeper right off the bat. Also shorts and rays/doggies. Wind died down and decided to fish the RS area. not much action. Wound up going to one of my go-to spots and it was game on. My buddy and I wound up with 3 slot fish and 2 19" and also 2 nice sea bass. Fish where caught om 3" gulp grub tipped with a spearing using a 3-way rig. most of the fish where caught between 60-70 ft of water. Some other fisherman back at the barn also had a very good catch of bigger Fluke. So they are out there you just have to find them. Tight Lines.

Nice report. What were water temps up to after all this heat?

How was MCM? I haven’t been down in a week but last time the place was a ghost town and that surprised the hell outta me.

Nice report Detour and gives us all some encouragement. With all the bait swimming around inside I think we’re going to be set for later in the season too.

You are correct MCM was a ghost town on that week day. Between the price of fuel ($5.10) the heat and the lack of good fishing people are staying home. Water temps were around 70 on the surface that day. I think the Fluke fishing is going to really pick up in the ocean in August. Only time will tell. Tight Lines!
