On Father's Day we hosted an open boat bluefin trip. Ran out in perfect conditions and had lines in by 0600, before we could even set our 4th line we were tight, landed and released over a dozen small bft's. Decided to go searching for the real fish and found what we were looking for, all at once, 4 banger with multiple large bluefins attacking the spread, lost 3 bars landing one fish over 150 pounds. Not cheap.

Tried popping into the multiple schools but they were shy. Guys decided to jig with instant hooks ups, some doubles and triples. Very large fish, some client equipment wasn't heavy enough and catastrophically failed. Most battles on the light tackle took over an hour. Landed all the fish we hooked, some over 200 pounds, slid them thru the door, onto the deck, dehooked and released. Great trip. Open boat next Fri/Sat/Sun, see the open boat thread for details.
