Thumbs up Raritan river 4/10/19:

Better day went 3 and 0. The usual haunts. Bug hatch up by Duke Island Park was insane. Got 2 at DIP, one photo worthy, and got one down in Manville. After fishing stopped by the Sporting Life and picked up a few things, store is FULLY stocked ! I have yet to get a SMB this year !
Heard from the Rutgers people pulling the net down in Piscataway looking for American Shad, no shad yet just walleye and smallmouth bass

Nice, that rainbow looks like a holdover, pretty fins and good pic

The pic did turn out quite well, had the sun coming over my shoulder and it hit the fish just right. Yeah, too bad trout can not and will not hold over in the Raritan river (as I have been told)

Hi Andy, last year a buddy fishing for channels caught a nice brown trout on a size 2/0 hook with hot dog beneath Duke Island. Didn't look like a hatchery fish

Long way from club stocked waters although I guess it's possible.

Thanks for the motivational pics. No smb for me yet either. Stopped at the QB last night from 7-8. Only got a couple bites under the bridge. Saw another angler going for stripers down stream. Also, saw something cruising, making wakes, a few feet away from me near shore. Couldn't identify what it was.
