![]() I came across this a couple of weeks ago, and it looks like some of the spots i like to fish for spring trout may no longer be stocked. I am so upset about this. I sent them an email and all I got was an automated response. Every time I find a decent place to fish close to home it turns to crap.I hope this does not get passed.

![]() It does look like a lot thought went into this. Sorry to hear you are upset.
I've been asking for changes on the Raritan for years and so far nothing. The response I get is to attend the F&G meeting in the spring, which I do. |

![]() why is the public meeting being held in the southern part of the state which is nowhere near where these proposed changes will affect???
kinda makes me think about what or more importantly whom is motivating these proposed changes? http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/new...proposal18.htm If you take issue with these changes be sure to comment by 12/1. http://www.nj.gov/dep/rules/comments/

![]() I blame the fly fishing pretty boys. Bet theyre behind this. Theyve been butt hurt ever since they removed the fly fishing only sections and guys, who are more interested in fishing than twirling a giant noodle rod around, been catching all their trouts haha

Additionally, I figured folk that had clubs already fished during the off-season because there's no one enforcing it. Do game wardens ever check the club's property in the first place? This new rule just simply made it official. With or Without the rule I dont see what it would change. I think the main problem is private clubs to begin with. Kind of lame that the state chose to sell so much public river to private. I don't have a big understanding of how much river is under club boundaries compared to public water- I know that for hacklebarney state park it's actually mostly private however... id like to imagine a hike from the bottom of that stretch to the top with a rod in my hand, but at its current length it's not even 3 hour hike I think. |

My problem is that this proposed rule is for publicly stocked rivers! Yes the very same rivers that you and i fish and that our trout stamps pay to stock fish with. Why do they get to be special??? because members pay $17,000/year for access to private piece of property that a river runs through? i don't know about you but that is some serious expendable income which only the 1% can afford

It is BS that the trout we pay for through stamps can end up in their part of the river. I just dont see anyway around that however. |
