I did not know about the importance of the metal to metal contact. The anode that is shot is on the lower unit. A few years ago I installed additional zincs on my trim tabs when I noticed them starting to pit and those zincs have shown little wear. The info that you can get on this site is amazing and most appreciated. It makes taking care of your boat the right way easy as pie.
