First 2026 catfish
Went fishing 🎣 in 42.8 degrees Carnegie Lake this afternoon on a cold 🥶, cloudy ☁️ day with a 40 mph south wind. Air temperature was 42 degrees. Saw a group of 5 fishermen catch a fish 🐠. I caught 2 white perch and a 13.5” brown bullhead with worms 🪱 and a killifish. The catfish was a half inch too short to win 🥇 a NJ Skillful Angler Recognition Award 🥇. I am very disappointed ☹️. Fish 🐠 were swirling at dusk. Saw 3 eagles 🦅, Canada geese, mallards 🦆 and mergansers. Took lots of photos. Got very cold 🥶.
