they are typically driftig at night with a 3x3 rig.. I suppose if you anchored up and chunked, and used FRESH bunker it would bring you some bass.. However night drifting with live eels is absolutely deadly, and is a time proven and very simple method thats been around for a very long time. I am surprised its not used more.. I could be very wrong, but I cannot remember in all my years a north jersey head boat doing this .. Charters yes, but not a party boat. Everyone wants to jig these days, and I get it, but live eels is one of the best methods for catching stripers, and it works when nothing else does, and when most people think the stripers "aren't here yet"..
