Catbirds are so cool. When we built our house in Brick I would go down near the water at sundown and catch lightning bugs. Aft I shook them up in my hand, I would throw it on the ground, and the cat bird which was nearby would come next to my feet and have the delicious tidbit..... After awhile the catbird would come onto the railing of the porch at sundown and wait for me. Over time, this very smart bird would land on the top edge of the wall on my outdoor shower and just hang out there while I took a shower. Very cool. Eventually, after more than a year I found a dead catbird near my house, Sad day for me.......but the experience enlightened me to catbirds and how smart they are to have trained me to get it's appetizers..........LOL
