Great catch and good timing I think?
I was out Oceanside 3-5 miles off Hook and down the beach by the Highland Bridge about 16:00 and later on Sunday. Rolling 2-3' bunched up with strong S to SE winds. I assume you were gone by then? You are one tough guy calling that "great" conditions.
It wasn't death defying, but not exactly ideal either. A little too sporty for the 19 foot jet boat out of gas I went to find with no GPS.
I rounded Hook about 1800 and there were a dozen boats clustered i/f/o Earle.

Conditions were great and we were pretty much alone, so we were able to drift with no problem. Got into a bunch of nice big ling, and a few keeper seabass, including a real nice knucklehead, shown in the rare GD photo.
Nice day on the water with a good crew.
