Re: NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program
Detective Moscatiello wrapped up an investigation involving a New York-based commercial fishing vessel that was suspected of landing tautog in New Jersey without the proper permits. After reviewing months of documents, Detective Moscatiello charged the owner / operator of the vessel with two counts of landing tautog in NJ without the proper permit and two counts of landing tautog during closed season. An additional violation involving the net mesh size used to harvest summer flounder was also uncovered during Detective Moscatiello’s investigation. As a result, the owner was also charged with using an otter trawl with a mesh size smaller than minimum size for summer flounder.
