Listen you sound like the people who make up these regulations 1,500 hooks on 35 to 40 miles of gear? a lot of zero's are missing here. A long liner catches 20 fish a day an awful lot of zeros missing here as well. What commercial boat would put out 35 to 40 miles of gear & only 1,500 hooks for twenty fish? It would be loosing so much money just to do it. I used to commercial fish I know the numbers long lining is a death to any fishery. What about the innocent fish dolphins, seals & unwanted sharks etc that are caught . I'm not against commercial fishing but I'm against any kind of long lining fishing.
