I'm usually targeting eyes, so i'm using what ever weight jig i need to thump the bottom. 1/4oz to 1oz depending on depth, current, or wind. Cast, let it hit the bottom. Then figure out what the best retrieve for that day is. Some days its a constant slow roll along the bottom, some times a reel-drop, reel-drop retrieve gets em biting, some days its a snap jig retrieve. But on most days..... nothing works and I catch zilch! haha
