Hey guys,
The last couple of weeks we have been fishing for stripers and Seabass. Although the stripers have been tough this spring, we did catch some. But we have pretty much given up with them at this point. We finished off the spring Seabass season with a bang, it was great fishing with jigs and bait.
We ran 2 shark trips recently as well. First trip we had 5 makos in the slick. Fought one for an hour using the boat was the only way not to get dumped. She was a brute. Much larger than our 361lb last year, estimating between 400-500lbs, but unfortunately that's why they are giant robots, after drilling her with the harpoon, she still managed to get away. (Yes it's true, pic below). Also lost another one around the same size a couple hours later, she cut off the 400lb mono.
The second shark trip we caught all blue sharks .....
The last 2 days we switched gears to the fluke! Wednesday was tough trying to get through the Seabass and the 5 man crew managed 7 keepers and 20 shorts or so.
Thursday was lights out fishing. The guys limited the boat in about 3 drifts. They bit there heads off, and like that it was over and turned back to a pick. Alex had the big fish at 9lbs.
WE HAVE OPEN BOAT NEXT WEEK TUESDAY - SATURDAY.
