There are very little advantage if any to a two speed reel , especially bottom fishing , the low range settings do not gain nearly enough line , some use them to,overcome incorrect rod handling when fighting fish. U can gain more line by simply short concerted strokes on rod , two,speed reels in my opinion are the latest sales ploy to,make anglers believe ther a must have , far from the truth .
The 6 early model two speeds I've owned the only one the made sense was the Duel reels since their two,speed was simply designed to,back crank , no buttons!
I've used several models over the last 40 seasons &"never saw the need to,rely on a low speed anytime after using it for a few years decided useless .
