Default Any smaller blues around?

I know it's not the right time of year for snappers, but i was thinking of taking my cousin out on my father's 16' bay/river boat this weekend for some smaller blues, cocktails.

Have there been any around in any parts of the bay or any of the rivers? I've been out a few times this year and have had a blast with the endless gators, but those are too much for her to handle. We can fish anywhere from the navesink down to the manasquan river as the boat is trailered.

i'd take her fluking but i worry she'll get frustrated with missing some fish if they aren't aggressive this early in the season and i'm still trying to get her hooked on fishing so spending hours perfecting the "drop-back" isn't the greatest plan.

Hopping on board one of the great charters we have available for seabass was one thought for some great action but she hasn't been out on the water much and i'm worried she might get seasick.

Open to any other ideas.
