Default BOUNTY HUNTER- Open Boat, 1 Bass but a good one, 5/19

Capt. Paul ran an Open Boat Striped Bass trip today. On board we had John, Jessica, Mike, Nick & Eric. Paul ran a few miles to the north and although he did not find any Bunker or Bass he did get in on a good Bluefish bite. The group jigged over 40 big Blues keeping 10 and releasing the rest. A ride of a few miles got us out of the Blues and into the Bunker. Putting out the Spoons the Bass fishing was slow until one of the rods took a good bend and the reel started screaming. It was Eric's turn on the Rod and he handled it well. Everyone knew he had a quality Bass on the line. It turned out to be our only Bass for the day but it was a good one. She measured 51" in length. Had a girth of 28" and tipped the scales at just under 51 lbs. She was spawned out but we were surprised to find 4 large Bunker in her stomach. A fish that Eric could be proud of.
