Simrad said I can mount it above the other one and offset. Would they both work good like that? Or is it better to install the basic transducer as a thru hull and then put the structure scan in its place? And does anyone know avg time of install for a thru hull transducer? Also is it likely that my transducer I have now to have a lot of growth on it already? The boat has only been in the water since May Thanks in advance
Why don't u call a marine dealer that specializes in these installtions , they have to be done correctly or else u will always not get results ur looking for !
I personally had all my transducers installed thru hull on all my boats except a couple of early model Whalers ! Done right u get optimum readings at a range of speeds .
The bigger boats wer all hull recessed and glassed over so nothing stuck out of hull in case of hitting objects at hi speeds !
There is a transducer clear coat that u can apply to retard any growth on unit if this is occurimg I would paint it !
