Hit the CR this morning with my daughter. First cast with a jig and BAM she is hooked up and lands the first fish on the boat and the many EXTRA LARGE fish we encountered today. Her fish was the first to hit the decks, but certainly not the last. My daughter snagged on the bottom with the drift and lost 3/4 of her line.
Thanks to Bill for loaning her his rod! He is a hero!
Jigging in the morning gave us ~ 5 fish and then we anchored and bait ruled the day. There was an interesting drift, but casting out resulted in hook up after hookup. One for me, 2 for her, one for me etc. The stern was a nightmare from our view! We saw some impressive spiderweb tangles with at least 10+ lines involved.
We managed to stay clear of the worst of the tangles. Mates worked their asses off today...THANK YOU!
