Default Flouro Leader vs. Straight up Braid

Hi All!

This year is started using flouro leaders a lot more often. Berkley Vanish 6-8lb to be exact. I was using it mainly for trout drifting and spinning, and LMBs in clear water.

Now, flouro is supposed to be less stretchy but I have had the worst luck setting hooks since I started using it. I know after a while, flouro stays stretched and compromises the line strength but the line was newer, and i can tell when it's loosing its strength.

So am I crazy in thinking that I'm loosing more fish on flouro than braid, or that the flouro is causing poor hook sets?

Thanks in advance!
