I agree with everyone in this thread. The baby hybrid stripers seem to have a predilection for picking up dead bait and other objects off the bottom, but not the adults.

In fact, the baby stripers were a real pain-in-my-ass this weekend when I was trying to catch a catfish for dinner.

On a side note, I was reading about how some Southern reservoirs are stocking pure Striped Bass. I wonder why New Jersey only stocks hybrids. Maybe they get too big and would eat native gamefish.
