This is probably irrelevant, but I was fishing Spruce Run for catfish last night and my kayak was suddenly swarmed by a school of baby hybrid stripers. Within an hour, I must have caught and released twenty tiny fish between seven and ten inches long before the school moved on.
Last night, the water level was about 4 feet below peak. (One of the park employees was complaining he had to rake twenty-five more feet of beach because they lowered the water level.

I'm not really happy about this early fall were having. 63 degrees is cold when you're wet at night in a kayak.
