The bridges area has an interesting mix of fish, although that junction area receives a brutal amount of fishing pressure. I haven't been there in a while, mostly because I got tired of having to negotiate the crowd of fishermen standing under the bridge to launch my kayak.
Great Piece Meadows is a nice area...for a swamp. I've heard strange stories on the NJHunter that the land is either owned or managed by this shadowy anti-hunting group named Wildlife Preserves Incorporated. During hunting season, they put on ranger costumes and patrol the woods looking for hunters to harass in the sections of the preserve that don't allow hunting and sometimes in the sections that do.
They would like to ban fishermen from that section of the river, but so far they have been unsuccessful.
Here is a confusing map from their site of the areas where one can and can't hunt:
From their website:

Its land is administered as natural areas and wildlife sanctuaries for the protection of wild animals, plants, and their habitats and open to the public for passive recreational uses such as hiking, biking, bird watching, photography, nature observation and study, with prohibitions against hunting, fishing, trapping, dumping, and off-trail motor vehicles.

I'm not sure I would wear waders in that section of river. The bottom of that river is littered with horrifying pieces of rusting metal.
The chemicals in that water are kind of suspect, too.
