The Staten Island Tuna Club's 'Grandpa Savino' Memorial Fluke Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th with fishing taking place between the hours of 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. A captains meeting will procede fishing and is set for Friday, August 8th at 5 p.m. This meeting is to be held at Tackle U.S. located at 187 Mansion Ave., Staten Island, NY 10308.
Entry fee for this event is $100 per boat with a project prize money purse of $5,000 plus based on 50 entries. A Doormat Division also exists with a whopping $25,000 grand prize; a mandatory polygraph test is required of the winner.
1st through 3rd place will be determined based on the combined weight of the three biggest fluke each boat brings to the scale.
