When the IRT (subway) was built the debris were dumped there to extend the island and most of the shoreline is very shallow. Roosevelt would be a better island to fish and On the Water magazine even did an article about it.

I used to throw big rapala and rebel lures 10+ inches and had some success. This time of year as stated before big crocs should produce. If you decide to buck tail there be prepared to donate some tackle.

I don't need to fish Governor's Island. My Captain thought it was a good spot - I will tell him I will throw him overboard.
He will have a mutiny next time.
I will tell him to go to the Roosevelt Island.
So I should throw 5+ oz buck tail and Krocs or Kastmaster then? Hit the bottom with metals?
