Default Re: Avet MXL for Fluke

The MXL will be fine but I think a bit over kill for Fluke. Picked up an SXJ with cast control over the winter... Great little work horse of a reel. Very light and casts like a dream so I plan on using it for bucktailing, jigging, casting and drifting for inshore stuff and shallow water Blackfishing when not much weight is needed.

I use the MXL for live lining Stripers and have it on a heavier pole. It's a lot heavier than the SXJ so a bit harder and more clumbsy to handle and cast all day. It's a 2 speed so great for deep drops too.
