Good Morning,
OK New Jersey Fisherman, your Giants beat us twice in the Superbowl and we can all call each other friends now. On a serious note we have an issue here coming up which will effect the private angler and the Charter/Party fleet which many of you book. The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary has put in a proposal as part of the Ominus Habitat Protection. They would like to close 55 SQ Nautical Miles to all RECREATIONAL FISHING. That was not a typo that was not Five but fifty-five square miles on Stellwagen Bank. This will be voted on for approval or opposed by the members of the New England Fisheries Management Council on 24 February.
What can NJ FISHERMAN do to help, it will cost nothing and take just a few minutes. Please go to my website at
www.relentlesscharters.com and scroll down where you will see a call for action and a link called RECLTR. Please open up the link and you will see a word Doc there
http://relentlesscharters.com/report.../02/RECLTR.doc You can either open up here or through the website.
Once open feel free to change if you would like or you can fill in your name and address on the bottom and email to
tnies@nefmc.org
We appreciate anything you can do to help us on this matter because we all know the plan will be to grab additional areas and we will end up like California with MPA's and NO FISHING ZONES.
Thank You for your time and please keep this going and pass on to friends who fish and other family members.
Respectfully,
Captain Dave Waldrip
