Had a chance to head down and fish Friday and Saturday.
Friday I scoped out the ocean explorer with foul hook and the chimney man. Also present were blackfish bobby and thing one (or was it thing two
, over confused). Captain Quinn had us on nice bottom all day which turned into a steady pick for most. I ended up with two boxers and a handful of shorts. Fished hard all day. Had a blast with the bow people and crew. Capt bobby kept us out late and went above and beyond to put a catch together. Nice warm up for the PUOSU.
Saturday was a mimi charter. Jimmymac, lefty reeler, foul hook (again
), June and a few other lurkers. Had high hopes for this trip. Fished the same area as the previous day. Similar results. An all day slow pick for us. I only managed one keeper. Once again a great day of fishing and not catching for me. Kenny also had us on great bottom all day the fish just did not have the feedbag on.
I have yet to have a good trip this season. Of coarse today they bit their heads off while I was home winterizing the shrimp. Hope to have a better showing for the PUOSU next week or it will be one and done for me!
A special thanks to foul hook for putting me up Friday night. Also nice to see lefty and DCM on the water for a change. Fishing wasn't great this weekend, but I had a great time anyway!
