We who catch our own know but there is 3000 miles between the coasts and most people have no idea what good seafood is. My dad retired and moved to the mid-west where he was raised and he always says one of the things he misses most is good fresh seafood.
Especially for us who live around large metropolitan, culturally diverse areas like New York, Philly etc we can get spoiled by all the good food (pork roll anyone?

)and restaurants. When I visit half my in-laws in Wisconsin, good food is Applebee's.

When I visit the other half of my in-laws in New Orleans, well, it's some of the best damn food ever! Oysters, gumbo, gulf shrimp, crawfish mmmmmm!
I always try not to eat a chain restaurants if I can and you'll never catch me at Dead Lobster. The big restaurant chains don't give a crap about recreational fishermen. Eat local and support small business.
