I think swam home!! Thanks for another great trip Capt Dave. You always say its a "lottery" out there but I believe your experience, prep and passion (you guys are more excited than us) certainly increases the odds. OR it US bringing a bit of luck to the vessel
You are right, its not about the catching with us although luckily we have yet to experience a non catch with you guys. Its about the whole experience.
I always break the trip down into segments:
1) The prep, anticipation and the pain in the ass stuff, weather window, everyones schedule, the thousand texts etc buts its all good excitement.
2) the ride out: leaving at false light, the sunrise, the smell, crossing the 30 then 50 fathom line when the water color changes, the mammal life starts and Kevin comes down to start the spread and the music comes on.
3) the day troll where hours can go by but the any minute expectation lives inside. the first hits of the day and of course the "pleasantries" shared by you guys.
4) the night chunk. Sunset hits and if we are not still on some bigeyes or other strike, the crew starts the whole "new" process and prep. Again more "pleasantries" exchanged and the work begins. then the mayhem.
5) the ride home exhausted but taking in every second of another great trip and what mother nature has to offer out there.
Honestly don't think other than my wife and children there is anything better in this world!
Thank you.
