Chasin'tail Tough Opening Weekend
5/18 Had Joe and Marty out today. Ran over to get our bait an made our way to the fishing grounds. Had a few run offs right off the bat that could have possibly be bass but never committed after that just bluefish. Made a run into the back made a few drifts didn't like what i saw so ended up back in the area we started an set up on the hook. Managed to finally boat one keeper bass an one short but that was all she wrote.
5/19 Today I had George and his two daughters on for another shot at the striped ones. Left the dock a little earlier knowing the weather was just going to get worse as the day went on. First boat in the area with some fish on the screen we set up on the drift. First couple drifts only bluefish but then was rewarded with a bass in the boat on a bunker head. Slack tide trolled around a bit with nada so for the tide change we completely which it up and went clamming. Again nothing to show for it besides bluefish on the live bunker. With the nasty weather the crew decided to call it quits all early. Tough weekend
