Gents, if you want to pull on bluefins over 200 pounds on stand-up in the spring, then head down to NC and fish with the CR crew. I took the first photo in the post of an 80 inch bluefin being released by Deane since we already limited out and were releasing fish by 10am. There is nothing like fighting these fish on light tackle and getting them to the boat quickly.
If you are ever thinking about doing a trip to Prince Edward Island to battle a giant over 800 pounds on stand-up, you need to get to NC this spring and get your time on a stand-up outfit perfected. Mark and Deane will get you dialed in fast and you'll be ready to handle anything on stand-up after a day of battling bluefins with them.
I have chased bluefins from PEI to North Carolina and this ranks as one of the best fisheries to experience bluefin on stand-up. I'll be down there on St. Patty's Day weekend fishing with Mark and Deane.
