Default Capt. Cal.II and MY PB 12 lb SLOBSTER!

Went out on the Capt. Cal with a friend looking for Blackfish. We ventured to the deep and had a scratch bite...mainly bergals. Those fishing clams and bergal strips found ling, eels, dogs, and lots of bergals. We also found a few ling on the crabs.

THEN it happened...nibble...nibble and a run-away-freight train. Wasn't sure if I was hung on the bottom or hooked up with a whale! Thought he rolled me and then off the bottom and a 140 ft battle. Was fishing a double hook blackfish rig and initially the call on the deck (Mate) was that I snagged him with a hook in the side...NO...the other hook was in the mouth. Lost my sinker on the bottom. Fish was weighed on the boat at ~ 12 lbs and was my PB! Only blackfish bite for me all day, but it only takes one. A fish of a lifetime!

Think there was 5-6 keeper blackfish and my buddy would have taken the pool with the second biggest blackfish if I hadn't...he had a real good roaster.

Mates took a pic of the SLOB...hope they either tag it here or post it in addition.
