How big of a boat? If it has bunks you'll never be able to reverse winch it like it is said above. I have a 21ft boat and I just block the front of the trailer, then jack the back of the trailer up as high as I can go and then block the boat and lower just the trailer down to the ground. Then paint the back and then do the reverse for the front.
Now yes the first time is always the hardest because the unpainted surface has to be prepped first. Plus trying to figure out the water line can be a pita and you'll prolly end up painting it higher next year. Anywhere you go you're going to be put on a list because the marinas are racing to get all the boats in the water right now.
