Smile Raritan river 3/25:

Hit the river around 8:30 this morn. Flow was around 17.19, low for the spring, and the water didn't feel cold. Waded out in the low water and threw a gold shad dart near the falls. Did that for a while, nothing. Switched over to a Husky Jerk and started making my way down the river, cutting in where ever I could. Made my way all the way down to the old Conco pipe and fished some big runs there, nothing. Saw a fox cruising the bank making his way downstream. Came back up and fished above the falls and donated my Husky Jerk. Made a quick stop and fished the big run below the Queens Bridge. Threw a shad dart there for a while until I donated that. Looked at the rip rap below the bridge, the water is low but I think a shad could make it through there. Ran into jjfishy from the board as I was leaving the falls area. Talked to another guy and he had a few yellow perch and one white perch from below the falls. Slow day, but it was nice and cool overcast weather, beats working.
