Thumbs up West Branch Delaware River 4/6:

Typing in the lobby of Hampton Inn in Corning NY !!

Fished the no kill stretch in Deposit all morning, nada, went to the East Branch in Hancock for a bit, nada. Went back to Deposit in the afternoon, my buddy got a beautiful 18" brown, and I got, get this, an 18" landlocked salmon.
My big bulky camera was back in the car, I kinda pride myself in being able to identify just about anything that swims in freshwater. My buddies brown, deep brown and a very yellow under belly, nice spots. So I hook up and see it roll, I'm thinking a nice rainbow, get it up on the bank, all silver, dark spots along the top, forked tail.......mmmmmm. Could it be ? I will be researching this further.
May go back again on Friday on the way home. Water is very, very high, a bit off but not too bad. Other rivers up here are very muddy and very high, still snow on a lot of the mountains and hit a lot of snow coming through Binghamton. It's winter up here.
