Rollers were designed to cut friction when fighting big fish. Unless you fish constantly for tough fish over 200 #'s I would opt for ring guides. They are vastly approved today & will perform well on most fish, with very little maintenance required.
I do however personnaly prefer roller tip tops on my rods.
