When I was in the market for a boat I asked the same question of a few people in the know, and they ALL told me to stay away. Parts are very hard to come by and are very expensive. In the SH area it is also very hard to find someone to work on them.
When I was looking there were a ton of boats in the tri state area with the Volvo's.... the only place that I could find the boat that I wanted with the Cummins were in Fla. I ended up making 5 trips to Fla looking at boats due to the fact that everyone told me to stay away from the Volvo's and these are guys that work on boats every day.
