I wold not recamend cleaning your fish in fresh water until you intend on cooking it.
I've been holding them up and plucking em out latly, but for many years I did not even know they were their. It kinda bugs me out too, I feel obligated to tell the people I give fish away to that they in fact have worms. The result has been I have a lot less people to give cod to!
Good thing the fishing is not what it used to be, I'd have a hundered pounds of filet in my freezer aper trip!!
