Roller or Bunk Trailer?
 

Got a new Sea Hunt 225 and am going to purchase a trailer in the fall. Should I go with rollers or a bunk? Boat is in a slip all season and is only hauled in the fall or severe storm and launched in the Spring.

Rollers are easier to launch and recover, but bunks give the hull more support. I have a bunk for my 25 and it works fine.

I've always went with if you trailer a lot then roller, in the slip all season bunk. I used to run my little boat all over the place so the roller did make it very easy to get on and off quickly. I guess the question is ,is it worth the extra money for rollers to use it twice a year? Good luck

Had a roller for years on my 21' trophy, needed to replace it, got a used bunk trailer at a good price and I love it. I'll never go back to rollers.

I run a 20' center console used every week. I wouldn't trade my bunk trailer for anything else.

I've had only bunks on the two trailers I've owned.

I would imagine rollers have an advantage on flatter ramps that don't drop off quickly?

A good roller trailer will allow very easy launches .. I personally launch my 18 footer myself by simply winding the winch backward .. Boat moves gently off the trailer, and enters the water without a ripple, and my lights, wiring, trailer frame, , hubs, axles ,etc never even touch the water.. I do imagine there are size limits, but I would bet a really good roller would launch most boats under 20 feet the same way as mine. just make sure you don't let go of the handle!.. bob
